So far what I have for ideas:

Concinnity 09 will take place on April 4th- the first Saturday of April. Until I get a solid Con with decent methodologies down, it's not going to go for two days.

Advertising
Low Cost:
Facebook event
Distribute flyers at stores-
-Lost World of Wonders
Discounts on flyers or in newspapers
Email lists (Orgs, MSOE, MAGE)

Moderate Cost:
Advertise in high school newspapers (there are 2-3 in the area that I think I have a chance for)

High Cost:
Radio spots

Events:
::MAGIC::
Cube Draft
WOTC Magic tournaments
Drafts

::VG::
Video Game Fighting Tournament (Kevin)
Old Video Game consoles to be played with at your lesiure
Rock Band 2

::Board Games::
We've got a pile of them, and I'd like to make a push to play some of the more interesting ones like 'Orcs at the Gates' or 'Heroquest'.

::RPGS::
-Nick (Aliens)
-Taxicab (can't remember what his name is)
-Others, possibly using games we don't normally play with.

::PANELS/SPEAKERS::
-Starcraft Mythos and SC2? (Durant, maybe?)
-RPGs: Creating Worlds to Play in (Jeremiah)
-M:TG Mana Balancing (Brad?)

::MISC::
-Take and Paint

Vendors:
CHADAM
Wayne McCloud

So the next step from here is getting quotes for radio ads from various places. While they are the most expensive, they'll reach the greatest number of people the fastest. The stations I'm going to be looking at are going to be WMSE and FM 102.1.

As for flyers, the best place for distribution is going to be at the local area gaming stores. I figure that we can take a 8.5" x 5.5" sheet and make it into a decent flyer, then print out a pile of them and distribute them.

If anyone has any ideas at all on events they'd like to run or anything that we could do for con, post here.

Heroquest, as i remember playing it several years ago w/ my own set, is more of a RPG with its own quests, maps, miniatures and character advancement than a boardgame. There were expansions for it but they're long out of print by now. It would make a good low prep campaign, as it has enough quests in it to last a good couple of months w/ just the starter set.

You could also use it as a nice intro into RPGs in general, as its fairly simple to play and easily expandable, as well.

If we get flyers done soon enough, I can bring some to the VOA meetings and hand them out. Also, I have a whole family who grew up on fighting video games so I can try to bring them. And when I mean my whole family, that is a lot of people. Also, I live by Lost World of Wonders so I can see if I can put up flyers there as well.

You sir, are now my lackey for Cons. I need to talk to you more on Monday.

Get permissions from LWoW to distribute flyers. Those fighting games are going in as a tournament.

So what is actually happening at Concinnity this year? I have not made the past couple of meetings and I swear that I have not heard about it in the past 2 months except for Brad's Email out to the list today.

I have actually heard more about Marquette's EagleCon then I have heard about our own con. So again, what is going on by us before I convince a boat load of people to go over there?

BTW: I have 2 xbox 360's, a xbox, projector, along with a full set of DDR and Rockband games. I also have my gaming PC which I can setup as a game server if we want to do any PC games, I just need to know what. What do you guys need/want if anything?

Con, it seems, is going to be another Games Day (like SnowCon and MAGErcon. We really don't have any major draws, and since the freshmen aren't willing to spend some time giving us a hand planning and whatnot (aside from Justin) we really haven't had time to do advertising... again.

So really, It's April 4th. Within the next week, we'll have a list of events we will host.

Aside from that, there's not much else I'm afraid. We have no Con Chair to look out and get help, and Social chair is a joke.

Anyways, I'm going to set up a time for a Con meeting this week. Look for it in the minutes.
