Outside of stating how much this news fills me with rage at its general disregard for Creative Commons, I can't say too much about this article that isn't said therein. The end of user-created content on YouTube is nigh, it seems.

Well that is pretty sad. I actually liked watching original videos and spoofs done to songs, but apparently not anymore. Well Youtube's community will most likely take a huge hit for doing this. Let the ranting begin......

actually Imeem did something similar that youtube is doing now, and when there site almost died, they took out the copyright blocking, which brought back members.
btw, 3rd party copyrights allow such actions so long as the user of the music says it does not belong to them it should be fine and boredom is a curse. So it is actually the laziness of people saying "this song belongs to so and so and my dumb self for being to lazy to put this" then it would have been all good. more or less
and what the (self censor) is up with the long (self censor) title. would have been easier to just put youtube=muting or something.

been noticing on music videos that are approved of, there is itune advertisement. I think youtube was paid to put up the mute by itunes, so itunes can make a profit. cause it is like they don;t make any money at all.
