Concinnity 2007

Description

Concinnity is an annual convention held by MSOE’s Student organization, MAGE, that is open to the public. It will feature role-playing games, miniatures and card games, guest speakers, a dealer area and more. This convention is traditionally held near the first April as a sci-fi convention. It has seince evolved to reflect the interests of MAGE’s members, which include anime, chess, gaming, and sci-fi. MAGE is open to suggestions and ideas as to how to improve concinnity. Feel free to visit the forums and leave ideas.

Concinnity 2007 will be March 31st April 1st at the MSOE Campus Center building located on 1025 N. Broadway, Milwaukee, WI seen as building CC on the map below.

Susan Van Camp

Susan Van Camp is a fantasy artist. Susan began her commercial career in the Gaming field by doing work for Steve Jackson’s Car Wars series. From there she proceeded to comic books with Arrow Comics’ Tales from the Aniverse in 1984, and Varcel’s Vixens from Caliber Comics. Comics led to Science Fiction Conventions and the art shows held at the conventions, where she began painting and putting her paintings up for bidding by the public. In 1994 Van Camp began doing work for Magic: The Gathering. She began selling her own RPG game by 1996 called Dragon Storm. http://www.artbysvc.com

James Lowder

James Lowder is an author and editor, working most often within the fantasy, dark fantasy, and horror genres. His earliest novels were part of the Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft shared universe book lines, but beginning in the late 1990s he turned his attention more often to creator-owned projects. Some of his short stories have been cited in the honorable mention list of the annual Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. He was an Origins Award finalist in the Best Short Fiction category for his 2003 novella, “The Night Chicago Died,” a story that featured the debut of his mystery man character, The Corpse. His novels have been translated into more than ten languages.

Tiffany Grant

Tiffany Grant is a voice actor who is best-known for her English-dubbing work with ADV Films on such anime movies and television series as Neon Genesis Evangelion, in which she voiced the character Asuka Langley Sohryu (reportedly her favorite role). She is also known for portraying Altena in Noir and Ryoko Subaru in Martian Successor Nadesico. http://tiffanygrant.eva-r.com

Leanne Buckley

Leanne Buckley has done extensive illustration in the roleplaying industry, for companies such as Wizards of the Coast, White Wolf and Paizo. She has designed and illustrated board games for Mattel, as well as comic book interiors for Oni Press, including CLOSER. Richard Iorio II

Richard Iorio II is a writer and designer and has written for Atlas Games, Guardians of Order, Hogshead Publishing, and Zeitgeist Games (just to name a few). In addition he designed two the card games Geek Wars: Battle for the Con and World Championship Dodge Ball for Goodman Games. He is currently busy at work on the historical supernatural horror game 1776. http://www.rogue-games.net

Monica Valentinelli

Monica Valentinelli is actively pursuing a career as a freelance writer/editor in the gaming industry. Her work includes material published by Eden Studios (All Flesh Must be Eaten), Abstract Nova (Noumenon), Spartans Unleashed (Cursed Empire) and more. She has published fiction at Flamesrising.com by express permission of Bob Goat Press (Conspiracy of Shadows) and Apophis Consortium (Obsidian).

Jaeson Jrakman

Jaeson Jrakman has been actively Ghost hunting since 1997 and spent two years in research to write The Art of Ghost Hunting. He currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and serves the southeastern Wisconsin area. http://www.jaesonjrakman.com

RPG Demos at Concinnity include: Colonial Gothic: 1776, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Vampire: the Requiem, a|state, Obsidian: the Age of Judgment and Hollow Earth Expedition

Card and Board Game Events include: Magic: the Gathering Tournaments, Zombie Rally, Munchkin, Vampire: Dark Influences and Twilight Creations’ Zombies!!!

Other Events include: RPGA Events, Anime Screenings, Guest Speakers and Presentations, Video Games, Miniature Tournaments and Painting

Tables are $20 each. Dealers will be provided with 2 badges with your tables. More badges can be purchased $1 per badge. You’ll be able to sell to attendees interested in sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, miniatures, art, and much more.
